Lon Chaney Jr. was born in Oklahoma, the son of silent film-era legend Lon Chaney. He entered the film industry in 1930, and played the lead role of Lawrence Talbot in the 1941 film “The Wolf Man,” which became a huge hit, and lead to his becoming a top horror star in the 1940s, playing all four legendary Universal monsters: the Wolf Man, the Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula.
